Biography

Khanh Trinh began his violin studies at the age of ten in his native country, Vietnam. He graduated from the Saigon Conservatory of Music in Violin Performance and Solfege in 1974.

In 1975 Mr. Trinh immigrated to the United States and continued his training at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston where he received both Bachelor and Master degrees in Violin Performance. He has been an active performer throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

In the summer of 1979, Mr. Trinh toured with the Youth Symphony of the United States as co-concertmaster giving more than 20 concerts in major cities across the country. During the following summer he toured Mexico with the American Chamber Orchestra of New York as soloist and concertmaster.

Mr. Trinh has participated in many music festivals throughout the United States and frequently performed in Master Classes given by noted artists such as the late Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Franco Gulli, Joseph Silverstein, James Buswell, and Walter Trampler. He has also performed with orchestras such as Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, Boston Classical Orchestra, ProArte Chamber Orchestra, New Hampshire Symphony, Springfield Symphony, Vermont Symphony, MasterWorks Chorale, and Rhode Island Philharmonic.

As Concertmaster of Thayer Symphony Orchestra since 1993, Mr. Trinh has performed concertos by Vivaldi, Mendelssohn, Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante with his brother, Trung Le Trinh, and Schindler's List by John Williams.

He resides in Marlborough, Massachusetts with his wife, My Nguyen, and sons, Joey & Kevin.
